The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and R. K. Chandolia, advisor (economic), DoT are facing criticism over the appointment of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)’s chairman and managing director.
BSNL?s executive unions and Telecom Watchdog, a non-governmental organisation have expressed their concerns over the matter, stating that DoT and Chandolia have manipulated the eligibility criteria and are scheduling interviews in a hasty manner to favour a particular candidate.
Letters requesting the intervention of the Prime Minister and the cabinet secretary have already been sent, with copies marked to various DoT officials.
