ZTE has unveiled the ZTE GEEK smartphone at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) Spring 2013.

The GEEK is the first smartphone to be powered by Intel’s new 32nm Atom processor platform Z2580. The smartphone has a 5 inch screen and functions on the Android jellybean operating system. The ZTE GEEK offers 8GB eMMC and 1GB of RAM. It supports dual camera (a 8 megapixel rear camera, and a 1 megapixel front camera).

Commenting on the launch, He Shiyou, executive vice-president and head, mobile devices division, ZTE, says, “Our recent collaboration with Intel on the ZTE GEEK builds off of the success of the Grand Series and further enhances our competitiveness in the high-end smartphone market.”

Along with ZTE GEEK, the telecom equipment vendor is also showcasing its V98 tablet and Grand X IN smartphone at the IDF. Both devices are powered by Intel chips.
