The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is reviewing the charges paid by international long distance operators and internet service providers to cable landing stations in India.

It is expected that the review will result in lower tariffs in the next two months.

The charges under review will be governed by TRAI?s International Telecommunication Access to Essential Facilities at Cable Landing Station regulations released in 2007. These regulations provided for a minimum three-year commitment period, which has expired.
