Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited?s (BSNL) plans of expanding its 2G network have been stalled, due to the unavailability of the required telecom equipment, say news reports.

Earlier, BSNL had awarded a contract to ZTE for supplying the required equipment, worth Rs 13 billion. As per the deal, ZTE was to supply BSNL with GSM equipment to help it install about five million lines in nine eastern zones, including the north-eastern states.

However, ZTE is yet to confirm whether it will be able to supply the required infrastructure to the operator well within time.
