In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Milind Deora, Minister of State for Telecom, has said that Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had no role to play in the 2G spectrum issue.
This, he added, was despite its agreement with Swan Telecom (currently under scrutiny with regard to this issue) for intra-circle roaming services and infrastructure sharing.
Moreover, he said that Swan Telecom and Unitech Wireless were allegedly favoured in allocation of 2G spectrum.
