Bharti Airtel plans to launch an initial public offering (IPO) for its tower unit, Bharti Infratel.
The company has informed Bombay Stock Exchange that it has appointed a committee of the board of directors to consider the listing of the equity shares of Bharti Infratel.
The committee appointed by the company will take a final decision regarding the sale of upto 10 per cent of Bharti Infratel?s equity shares.
Bharti Infratel has more than 33,000 towers in operation.
