Airtel Niger, the Nigerian subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has announced the appointment of Ouattara as its new managing director (MD).Prior to this, He was associated with Atlantique Telecom Togo, where he has worked since August 2005 in various capacities. He worked as the business development manager in Abidjan, Cote D?Ivoire till August 2006 and later was appointed the chief technical officer and deputy MD for Cote D?Ivoire between 2006 and 2009, till his appointment as MD at the company in March 2009.
In another key appointment, Alain Kahasha has been announced the new chief operating officer (COO) for Airtel DRC, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel in Democratic Region of Congo. As the COO, he will support the overall strategic and operational responsibility for the telecom operator in the country. Kahasha has been working with Airtel since 2006 and in his most recent assignment was serving as the MD of Airtel Niger since July 2010. Besides Airtel, Kahasha has also worked with the Coca-Cola Company, British American Tobacco (BAT) and Vodacom in the DRC, in the past.
