AT&T, the US telecom group being acquired by SBC Communications, has announced plans to expand its portfolio of global networking services for business customers into new locations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. By the end of 2005, the company plans to expand its reach to countries such as China, Croatia, Cyprus, Ecuador, India, Malaysia, Qatar, Panama and the United Arab Emirates. It has made efforts to extend its in-country coverage in key markets and has established network interconnect agreements with China Netcom and China Telecom. Network interconnections are also being established in Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and the UK. These complement AT&T’s previously announced network integration with Alestra’s network in Mexico. Additional interconnects are planned for later in the year.
