Chinese operator China Mobile has reported that it added 3.39 million net GSM subscribers during May 2005, to bring its subscriber base to 220.5 million subscribers at the start of June 2005.
While the number of prepaid customers is 3.2 million, the number of contract subscribers has gone up by 111,000. Its rival operator China Unicom reported 88.76 million subscribers in its GSM network at the end of May, compared to 87.8 million at the end of April.
