Three of Apple India’s senior sales executives from the India leadership team have stepped down from their positions. They are Rahul Puri, national sales, distribution head and head of operator business; Jayant Gupta, who headed iPhone sales, modern trade and the franchisee-owned Apple Premium Retail stores; and Manish Sharma, national sales head, telecom. The exits follow Apple’s restructuring of its distribution system, following which it has reduced the number of its national distributors. Of the existing five distributors, Ingram Micro and Redington will be retained, while Brightstar, Rashi Peripherals and HCL Infosystems will be phased out by March 2019.
