Anant Sethi: CISO and Head of Digital Integrations, Adani Group

Anant Sethi is a seasoned technology and cybersec­u­rity professional. His key strengths include leadership, collaboration, technical and fun­ctional knowledge, stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills. His expertise encompasses various domains, from information security and risk management to cloud security and digital integration for mergers and acquisitions.

As the CISO and head of digital integrations at Adani Cement, he is responsible for leading comprehensive cybersecurity strategies and digital transformation initiatives, and ensuring robust protection of the organisation’s digital assets amidst a rapidly evolving threat landscape. The fact that the technology sector is shifting very fast and that there is a need for continuous learning to stay relevant makes this role very dynamic, he says, along with the opportunity to work with top-tier leadership in the cybersecurity and digitalisation space. His other responsibilities include managing complex IT and OT environments, securing remote work and workloads hosted on hybrid cloud, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a strong, risk-aware culture.

His 27-year career rev­olves around harnessing secu­re technology solutions over freeware or open-source ones to drive business solutions and improve efficiency. His experience spans leadership positions in globally recognised organisations, including Tech Mahindra and Bank of America. He has also worked with DXC Technology, Tata Communications, Honeywell International and EDS.

Commenting on key trends shaping the industry, he states, “Over the next few years, the tech/telecom industry will remain focused on the expansion of 5G networks and the development of 6G by 2028, AI-powered applications, edge computing, quantum computing and internet of things. Cloud computing will become a major enabler for telecom and tech companies to provide scalability, flexibility and cost savings to their customers. Quantum-safe cybersecurity solutions will gain market space to protect against threats from quantum computers and AI-empowered cyber risks.”

Sethi holds a BE in Electronics and Power from Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur, and has completed an executive management programme at IIM Bengaluru. His commitment to continuous learning is reflected in his extensive portfolio of professional certifications, including CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCNA, PMP, ITIL Master, Six Sigma Black Belt and TOGAF 9.

He stays active through activities such as running, chess, table tennis and cricket. His family includes his parents, his wife and their two sons.
