Alcatel-Lucent is planning to develop and distribute a prepaid option to cellular operators for use on the BlackBerry platform.
The company will host the real-time, volume-based charging solution customised for BlackBerry smartphones and will seamlessly integrate it with operators’ existing networks. The company claims that the option will enable BlackBerry smartphone users to track the minutes and data they have used against the prepaid amount remaining in their account, so that they can easily recharge their account when required.
