Airtel Bangladesh, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel has won 5 MHz of 3G spectrum for $105 million in a spectrum auction held by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
BTRC has allocated a total of 25 MHz of 3G spectrum to four operators for $525 million. In addition to Airtel Bangladesh, the other three telecom companies which have won 3G spectrum include Grameenphone, Robi Axiata, and Banglalink Digital Communications.
