According to the chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the company has set its sights on becoming the world’s largest artificial intelligence (AI) led technology services company, with 130 of its top 139 clients already having chosen it as their AI services partner.
In his letter to shareholders in the company’s annual report for 2025-26, the CEO described financial year 2025-26 as an inflection point for enterprise AI, as customers decisively moved from experimental pilots to large-scale deployments.
He noted that 130 of TCS’ top 139 clients, defined as those generating over $50 million in annual revenues, have selected the company as their AI services partner. To support this shift, TCS has significantly upskilled its workforce. Over 2,70,000 employees now have advanced AI capabilities, representing a threefold increase from the previous year.
Beyond its global enterprise client base, the CEO highlighted TCS’ execution of nation-scale technology projects in India during the fiscal year.
Looking ahead, he said that as enterprises scale their AI deployments, they will require a unified control layer, which he described as an AI Operating System, to make AI repeatable and governable across organisations.
