Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited’s (MTNL), consolidated loss has widened to Rs 10.65 billion during the quarter ended (QE) December 2019. The company had posted a net loss of Rs 8.3 billion in the same period a year ago.
The total revenue of MTNL declined by 14 per cent to Rs 6.24 billion during the period, compared to Rs 7.23 billion in the corresponding quarter in 2018.
However, employees cost of MTNL stood at Rs 7.5 billion. During the quarter, 14,387 MTNL employees opted for voluntary retirement scheme (VRS).
