WhatsApp has partnered with Dutch payment services firm PayU to enable prepaid mobile recharges directly within the app for its Android and iOS users in India. The feature will be rolled out in phases over the coming weeks, allowing users to recharge their own number or those of friends and family members conveniently within the application.
Users across India with prepaid connections on Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea Limited will be able to choose from a range of available plans and complete their recharges without leaving the app, WhatsApp and PayU said in a joint statement on Thursday.
