Apple has set up an education hub in Bengaluru, marking its first such centre in India and the fourth globally, to provide skill development, training programmes and its developer course portfolio for employees working across its supplier network. The hub is being run in partnership with Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and will start rolling out new courses from March across more than 25 supplier facilities in the country.

Beginning with Tata Electronics, which manufactures iPhones under contract, the curriculum will focus on building capabilities in digital literacy, Swift coding, robotics, automation technologies and smart manufacturing practices.

Under the collaboration, the Bengaluru hub will function as a central learning space where trainers and employees can engage directly with specialised educators. MAHE faculty will train supplier instructors in areas such as digital literacy and Swift programming, who will then scale the learning across larger employee groups.

The initiative is supported through Apple’s global $50 million Supplier Employee Development Fund.

Apple said it already offers over 75 courses for supplier employees in India and, following the positive response to its robotics training programme launched in December 2024, plans to expand those offerings to additional sites this year.
