Adani Group-owned Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) informed that it has not denied right of way (RoW) to any telecom service provider and remains open to engaging in individual discussions with operators on mobile network charges, but will not succumb to cartelisation.
NMIA issued a statement in response to a letter by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) to the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), in which the association alleged that the airport operator had denied RoW and raised several other concerns.
However, according to NMIA, the in-building solution (IBS) infrastructure for mobile networks was procured and installed following multiple rounds of discussions with individual telecom service providers. Additionally, it added that state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is already at an advanced stage of testing for using the IBS infrastructure at the airport.
