Tata Electronics is reportedly in discussions with multiple potential vendors to support its upcoming semiconductor fabrication plant in Dholera and its outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Assam. Global equipment makers such as Dutch multinational ASML and South Korea’s JT Corp are among the companies engaged in talks with Tata Electronics.
ASML has indicated that its potential entry into India would depend on the continued development of semiconductor units in the country. For the company to establish a manufacturing facility, it would need a clearer understanding of the local ecosystem, the presence of major customers, and significant progress in India’s overall semiconductor manufacturing landscape.
