RailTel has reportedly announced that it expects to begin operations at its Noida data centre within the next 18 months and will scale capacity gradually based on bandwidth demand. The PSU’s two other data centers are situated in the National Capital Region (Gurugram) and Telangana (Secunderabad).

The company said it is now focusing on expanding its data centre network in other cities. In early 2022, RailTel had indicated plans to partner with firms to build and operate more than 100 edge data centres at railway stations across the country. In August last year, it confirmed a collaboration with Techno Electronic & Engineering Company (TEECL) to roll out these smaller facilities in phases. The project will be executed by Techno’s digital arm, Techno Digital, over a timeline of 1.5-3 years and tenure will extend to 30 years.
