The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) had reportedly sought details and the factual position from Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel regarding the alleged withdrawal of entry-level prepaid plans, but has not identified any pressing need for intervention at this stage.

Earlier, the operators were asked to clarify the status following reports of plan removal, with sources indicating that while one operator confirmed the withdrawal and made the requisite filing with TRAI, the other stated the plan remains available through its physical stores.

Further, the responses submitted by both companies are reportedly being assessed by TRAI against regulatory-compliance benchmarks.
