According to the minister of communications, the government’s strategic revival steps have successfully brought Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) back from the brink. He stated that the state-run telecom giant, once left on “ventilator support” by the previous government, has now firmly re-established itself in the hearts of Indian consumers.

As per BSNL’s financial data, the company posted a net profit of Rs 2.8 billion in the January-March quarter (Q4) of 2024-25, marking its second consecutive profitable quarter after nearly two decades. This followed a Rs 2.62 billion profit in the October-December quarter, which was the company’s first profit in 18 years.

The minister credited the turnaround to a combination of robust government support and the dedicated efforts of BSNL employees, from linemen working in remote villages to teams at the company’s headquarters.

He also highlighted that India’s first fully indigenous 4G network has now been implemented nationwide.
