The Parallels SMB Cloud Insights Report estimates that the demand for cloud-based services from the small and medium enterprise (SMB) market in India will be valued at Rs 42 billion by 2016.
As per the report, offering SMB customers easy-to-consume hosted infrastructure, which includes cloud servers and storage, can be a viable revenue stream for Indian operators. In India, as the country’s infrastructure develops at a rapid rate, Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) will witness steady growth with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 30 per cent through 2016. The IaaS segment is expected to reach Rs 17.2 billion by 2016. At present, about 50 per cent of private branch exchange systems are considering taking up IaaS service over the next three years.
