Bharti Airtel has completed the deployment of additional spectrum it acquired in July 2024. As per the company, the deployment of additional 5MHz on 2100 band will give a boost to Airtel’s 5G/4G network capacities which, in turn, will improve and enhance data speeds and provide significantly better coverage inside homes and buildings both in urban and rural areas.
The company stated that deployment of additional spectrum is now complete and as a result, customers across Agra, Aligarh, Meerut, Bareilly, Moradabad, Dehradun, etc will enjoy an elevated quality of service both on voice and data. The deployment will also allow Airtel to offer wider coverage along the highways and rail routes as well as increase its footprint in rural areas as demand for connectivity continues to rise exponentially.
Bharti Airtel secured 97 Mhz of spectrum at recently concluded spectrum auction. It not only re-acquired the expired spectrum holdings but also expanded its sub-GHz spectrum and efficiently consolidated its fragmented spectrum blocks into continuous spectrum.
Commenting on the announcement, Sovan Mukharjee, chief executive officer (CEO), Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Bharti Airtel, said, “Airtel’s commitment to superior network performance is unwavering. With integration of this new spectrum, customers across state can now enjoy enhanced call connectivity, faster data speeds and an overall improved performance. We remain committed to Uttar Pradesh (West)-Uttarakhand and will continue to invest in technologies that will help elevate service experience for our customers.”
