Taiwan-based technology company, Foxconn, is planning to setup 10 to 12 manufacturing units in the country by 2020.

Initially, the company plans to set up these facilities in  states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, and will later focus on setting up incubators in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad as well.

At present, Foxconn has decided to set up its manufacturing base for mobiles and other gadgets in Sri City in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, it is in talks with the Karnataka government and various industry bodies in Bengaluru for setting up a plant. Foxconn had been running its facilities in India since 2006; however, the firm closed its last unit in December 2014. The company is now planning to contribute to the government?s initiatives of ?Make in India? and ?Skill India?.
