MTNL is planning to issue a fresh tender for the selection of a franchise partner for its 3G operations by June 2010. In July 2009, the company had invited bids for a similar deal and had shortlisted Virgin Mobile and the Spice Group. However, the deal was cancelled on account of regulatory issues.
