BlackBerry has introduced the Leap smartphone priced at Rs 21,490 in India.

The smartphone has a 5 inch screen with a screen resolution of (720 x 1280) pixels and pixel density of 294 ppi. The Leap runs on the BlackBerry 10.3 operating system and supports BlackBerry Blend desktop software. It is powered by a Snapdragon S4 Plus chip, which has a 1.5 GHz dual-core Krait CPU.

The leap offers 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 128 GB through a microSD card. The smartphone supports dual cameras ? an 8 megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera. The smartphone is capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps with 5x digital zoom.

The Leap supports connectivity technologies such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, bluetooth v4.0, A-GPS, 4G and microUSB v2.0.  The smartphone is powered by a Li Ion 2800mAh battery
