Gurgaon-based Nucleus Research Private Limited has raised $500,000 in seed funding from the chairman of Olive Telecom, Arun Khanna and Harsh Khanna, an angel investor. According to the company, the investments will be used for expanding the portfolio of its Yup messaging application.

Yup, is a smart messaging application with the key feature of one-click messaging, which essentially translates into urgent paging, besides pre-template messages and opinion polls. The company claims that Yup can operate even on low internet bandwidth and has seen over 200,000 downloads since its launch in September 2014.

Further, Nucleus Research is looking forward to raise $10 million in Series A round of funding and has appointed US-based accounting and advisory firm Grant Thornton for the same. Nucleus Research will use the planned future funding for marketing the application. Also, it plans to roll out the application in eight regional languages in the country.
