The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has proposed that operators must provide a three-month notice to their subscribers if they plan to change the technology currently deployed by them to provide telecom services.

In a communication to the Department of Telecommunications, the regulatory body has stated that as the spectrum gets liberalised in terms of operators being able to deploy any technology, the subscribers must be notified of any technology-related change in advance. Such changes may impact the coverage and quality of wireless services.
