Paving the way for operators to present their case to the Telecom Dispute Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) in relation to the 3G roaming agreements issue, the tribunal has dismissed the Department of Telecommunications? (DoT) petition against it. DoT?s petition stated that the tribunal did not have the jurisdiction to take any decision pertaining to this case.

Meanwhile, the tribunal has also asked Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar, Idea Cellular, Aircel and Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) to provide a copy of the roaming agreements they signed amongst themselves to DoT.

TDSAT also extended its interim order that restrained DoT from taking any form of coercive action against the operators. The tribunal had earlier passed this order on December 24, 2011.
