Telenor, in association with the telecom equipment vendor ZTE, has rolled out the long-term-evolution (LTE) network in Hungary.
The first phase of the LTE network covers 76 towns in Hungary. ZTE has provided Uni-RAN network solutions based on SDR technology for the LTE roll-out. The customised mode 2T2R RRU deployed in the LTE network will help Telenor in providing seamless internet connectivity to its users in the 1800 MHz spectrum band without increasing the RF module.
Commenting on the LTE network roll-out, Christopher Laska, chief executive officer, Telenor Hungary, says, ?For the first time in a long while, this quarter we can report an increase in voice and non-voice revenues alike. The current improvement demonstrates not only the attractiveness of our commercial offers, but also the quality of our new network. Owing to last year?s network modernisation program, we are now in a position to offer high-quality mobile internet services. In addition, we have also enhanced the quality of our voice services.?
Xu Ziyang, vice-president, ZTE, adds, ?ZTE?s Uni-RAN solution supports network multimode convergence and smooth evolution, and makes the deployment, recombination and optimisation of the network more simple, intelligent and efficient. The solution fully meets the Telenor?s need for an intelligent network management system.?
