A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court has deferred its hearing of Dr Subramanian Swamy, president, Janata Party?s petition to make P. Chidambaram, Minister of Home Affairs a co-accused in the 2G spectrum case.

Special CBI Judge, O.P. Saini, adjourned the hearing on the petition until 8 November, 2011 after Swamy pointed out that his application requesting the CBI to scrutinise Chidambaram?s alleged role in the 2G case was pending before the apex court.

Prior to this, on 15 September, Swamy had asked to record his testimony afresh alleging Chidambaram?s complicity in spectrum pricing.

He had said that the court should bring on record purported new facts that Chidambaram and former Minister of Telecommunications and IT, A. Raja, played a role in determining 2G spectrum prices and entry fee.
