The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued new subscriber verification regulations aimed at registration and maintenance of subscriber data through proper documentation and verification.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued new subscriber verification regulations aimed at registration and maintenance of subscriber data through proper documentation and verification. According to the draft regulations issued by PTA, all operators will have to verify the connections sold up to January 31, 2009 and submit the data to the authority by March 15, 2009. In order to ensure that these regulations are complied with, PTA may inspect the premises and records maintained by the operators at their customer service outlets or authorised agents/franchisees at any time.
