Reliance Communications (RCOM) is testing its soon-to-be-launched GSM services in Bangalore. In the first stage of testing, RCOM has issued over 1,000 GSM SIM cards to its employees. The second phase of the trial, where the company will offer services to its channel partners and select subscribers before the commercial launch, is expected to start by November 2008. The company has invested Rs 3 billion in setting up its GSM network in Bangalore where it has installed 1,600 tower sites.
