Ericsson has signed a high speed packet access (HSPA) network expansion contract with Taiwan-based mobile operator Far EasTone Telecommunications.

Ericsson has signed a high speed packet access (HSPA) network expansion contract with Taiwan-based mobile operator Far EasTone Telecommunications. According to the agreement, Ericsson will help Far EasTone to increase the penetration of its HSPA network in Taiwan to up to 95 per cent and enhance its mobile positioning service solutions. The Swedish vendor’s backhaul solution will help Far EasTone to increase its transmission network capacity in a cost-effective manner, thus enabling better HSPA service quality and overall network performance. Ericsson will also provide spare parts management and support services.
