Thailand’s National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has approved a plan to award 3G universal mobile telecommunications system licences in the 2 GHz spectrum band in August 2008.

Thailand’s National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) has approved a plan to award 3G universal mobile telecommunications system licences in the 2 GHz spectrum band in August 2008.

NTC will hold a public hearing in May 2008 to determine the details of spectrum pricing, and will discuss the results of a study on 3G licensing terms and conditions, including the appropriate number of licences and the licensing methods.

According to reports, NTC has 45 MHz of bandwidth in the 2 GHz spectrum band.
