Chinese mobile telecom service operators China Mobile and China Unicom have signed mobile telecom solution and service framework contracts worth 600 million euro and 150 million euro, respectively, with Alcatel-Lucent’s subsidiary in China, Alcatel Shanghai Bell.

Under the contract with China Mobile, Alcatel Shanghai Bell will provide end-to-end mobile solutions to support the operator’s network capacity expansion scheme. The contract also requires Alcatel to provide a TD-SCDMA solution that supports stream media, WAP and customised caller ringback tone services. Under the contract with China Unicom, Alcatel Shanghai Bell will provide a series of end-to-end solutions for the Chinese operator to meet its demands for network deployment and capacity expansion.

Besides, it will provide upgrading service for China Unicom’s 3G CDMA 1xEVDO network in Macao.
