China Telecom’s subsidiary Guangdong Telecom has signed a con tract with Alcatel-Lucent.

China Telecom’s subsidiary Guangdong Telecom has signed a contract with Alcatel-Lucent. According to the contract, AlcatelLucent will act as a strategic partner for Guangdong Telecom’s province-wide metro area network (MAN) optimisation project, and provide its IP/MPLS routing solution to the Chinese company. This will enable Guangdong Telecom to deliver advanced IP business and residential services and roll out additional valueadded services such as IPTV. The MAN optimisation project is likely to be completed by the end of 2007. The contract was secured through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent’s flagship company in China.
