Telenor Pakistan has entered into a contract with NSN to build off-grid solar sites. According to the terms of the contract, NSN will provide its off-grid site solution, Green Energy Control, which uses solar energy to power base station sites in rural and remote areas.
These solar-powered sites will be funded by Pakistan’s Universal Services Fund (USF). The USF-based contract aims to provide access to mobile services in Pakistan’s underserved areas.
