
Hutchison Telecommunications International Limited (HTIL), in partnership with the Charoen Pokphand Group, has launched mobile operations in Indonesia. The joint venture, called Hutchison CP Telecom (HCPT), will provide 2G and 3G mobile telephony services through its network which already covers most of Java island. The company plans to expand its coverage to Sumatra in 2007, and Kalimantan and Sulawesi by the end of 2008. To this end, the company plans to invest $600 million in 2007.
