BSNL plans to provide broadband connectivity through Wi-Max to over 5,000 villages. It has already set up one base station each in 10 cities including Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Pune to test trial Wi-Max. It may also bundle its broadband services with its “One India” scheme. Consequently, users will not only be able to make calls across India for Re 1 per minute but also surf at a speed of 2 Mbps.
