GSM players have stated that the reduction in roaming tariffs G would result in a financial loss of Rs 8-9 billion for companies.

The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has stated that micro management of tariffs for value-added services such as roaming will force service providers to review their entire tariff structure in order to maintain the viability of their business.

However, CDMA players such as Reliance have claimed the opposite. According to them, TRAI’s directive will have only a negligible impact of not more than Rs 200 million annually.
