Following an order by DoT, ISPs will unblock 17 websites and F blogs. The department has sought an explanation from them for blocking websites and web pages that DoT had not intended for blocking. (In a post-Mumbai blast order on July 13, it had clearly mentioned the names of the sites and pages that were to be blocked.) In a letter to DoT, the Internet Service Providers Association of India has claimed that it had to block the entire website from the server because despite the blockade at the subdomain and IP levels, the universal resource locators could have been accessed by any user in India.
