DoT is likely to reject TRAI’s recommendation to allow resellers in the international bandwidth segment. Unlike developed economies like Europe and the US where resellers play an important role, in India resellers are not permitted. DoT believes that it will take at least two to three years before the long distance infrastructure develops sufficiently to permit reselling.
