Huawei Technologies has signed a contract to supply $8.65 million H worth of telecom equipment to Turkmenistan. Huawei is expected to supply equipment for digital switchboards. The agreement was signed during the visit of China’s vice-minister of commerce, Zhang Zhigang, to Turkmenistan. During this visit, China agreed to provide an $860,000 grant to Turkmenistan to train Turkmen specialists to operate Chinese equipment.
