According to the research firm HIS, ZTE has achieved a market share of 17.9 per cent in the long term evolution (LTE) infrastructure market in 2013. During the last year, China witnessed maximum number of LTE deployments with ZTE emerging as the largest LTE solution provider in the country.

HIS claims that in 2013, the telecom equipment vendor won the largest share of the tender for China Mobile?s 4G-LTE Phase I Project. In addition, ZTE also won major LTE contracts in the global market. It is partnering with operators such as VimpelCom, KPN and Telenor to launch their commercial LTE networks in countries including Russia, Belgium and Hungary.

HIS points out that ZTE has emerged as a global leader in the commercial construction of time-division LTE (TD-LTE) networks. In 2013, the company led the Evolved Node B (eNodeB) equipment market with shipments over 70,000 units.

By the end of 2013, ZTE had established pilot and commercial TD-LTE networks for 66 leading operators in 40 countries, with 35 TD-LTE projects in Europe, India, Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia-Pacific, Southeast Asia and America.
