ZTE of China has announced that it has taken up 5 per cent of the global mobile phone market, with total sales crossing 5 million units. Some of its major buyers include operators from Brazil, Venezuela, Korea and India. ZTE has been a leading provider of CDMA phones in China since August 2004, with one ZTE mobile phone in every six-seven CDMA users.
