Zain Bahrain has conducted successful trials of LTE technology in the region, achieving data download speeds of 70 Mbps with a minimum latency of 15 milliseconds in a public LTE call. Zain has also demonstrated the Gulf region’s first voice call over LTE with its partner NSN, in addition to various other applications such as multi-video streaming, high resolution video conferencing and LTE phone mobility within an office environment. The operator will soon improve its coverage and upgrade the maximum download speed on its HSPA network to 14 Mbps.
