Yogesh Agarwal, Senior Director, Vertiv

Yogesh Agarwal began his career in telecom services with Vertiv in September 2005 and has since spent nearly two decades in telecom and digital infrastructure. Before joining Vertiv, he worked in sales and services across the automation and data centre power industries with organisations such as Messung and Benning SMC, building a strong grounding in technical solutions and customer engagement.

The infrastructure sector, as Agarwal sees it, is navigating a complex landscape shaped by economic pressures, low fibre network utilisation and growing expectations around energy efficiency and regulatory compliance. Against this backdrop, he is focused on enabling smarter infrastructure at scale. “Our key focus is to optimise return on investment through AI-led analytics, digital twins and autonomous operations,” he says, while also driving resilience through collaborative ecosystems and energy-efficient engineering models.

On the trends front, Agarwal points to AI as the central force transforming network design, optimisation and predictive maintenance. He sees the rise of AI workloads accelerating data centre and edge infrastructure expansion, particularly in emerging Tier II cities. Sustainability, consolidation across tower and fibre assets, and a sharper focus on cyber-resilient infrastructure are the other defining shifts. In his view, “These trends are shaping a more intelligent, distributed and resilient data ecosystem.”

In September 2025, Agarwal transitioned into strategic account management for the North Zone at Vertiv. His responsibilities encompass end-to-end ownership of key customer accounts, from stakeholder relationship management and revenue growth to cross-functional coordination across technical design, execution and after-sales support. He also handles strategic planning and forecasting, and is clear about what the role demands: “It is about managing the complete life cycle of key accounts with a strong emphasis on trust, performance and outcomes.” His key strengths include a solutions-oriented mindset in complex situations, a collaborative leadership style that keeps teams aligned to shared goals, and a commitment to continuous learning that helps him adapt to evolving industry demands.

Agarwal holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and telecommunications from the University of Mumbai. Outside work, he prioritises time with his family. He is married with three children, two daughters and a son. “They are, in many ways, my greatest motivation – a constant reminder of why discipline, integrity and hard work matter both in the boardroom and at home,” he adds.
