Pinkesh Kotecha: Chairman and Managing Director, Ishan Technologies
Pinkesh Kotecha is a first-generation entrepreneur. He founded Ishan Technologies in 2000 with a vision to combine IT solutions with reliable connectivity. “My professional journey has been shaped by a strong belief in using technology to solve real-world connectivity and access challenges.” Ishan Technologies entered the internet delivery space in 2007 and progressively expanded with a Gujarat ISP licence, a pan-Indian Class A ISP licence in 2015, and an national long-distance licence in 2017. Today, the company operates across 100-plus cities with over 1,900 employees.
Kotecha believes that the tech and telecom sector in India is entering a phase where intelligence, resilience and localisation will define competitive advantage. AI-ready networks, cloud native architectures, private 5G and edge-enabled infrastructure will become core to enterprise operations rather than optional enhancements. There is also a growing convergence across telecom, cloud, data centres and cybersecurity, driven by the need for integrated digital ecosystems.
Recognising these shifts, Ishan Technologies has announced an investment of Rs 3 billion to expand AI-ready digital infrastructure across the country. “This reflects our belief that future growth will be driven by platforms that combine high-performance connectivity with secure, scalable and compliant digital foundations tailored to India’s unique needs,” he says.
He also sees a strong opportunity to connect the unconnected and underserved, as the digital demand expands beyond metropolitan centres. “We are evolving from a services-led organisation to a complete solutions provider, positioning Ishan Technologies as a digital platform company. By adopting emerging technologies, strengthening digital infrastructure, we aim to build long-term relevance and trust with enterprises, governments and communities,” he adds.
He is an engineer by training and had worked as a faculty member at technical institutes, before founding his telecom venture. His management style is hands-on, especially when it comes to critical decisions, customer commitments and technology investments. At the same time, he empower teams to take ownership of outcomes.
In his free time, Kotecha likes to read, which helps him step back from daily operations and think more clearly about long-term shifts that may impact the business and the sector. He makes sure to spend quality time with his family. “My family has been a constant source of strength and balance throughout my entrepreneurial journey. It provides the grounding that helps me navigate the demands of leading a growing organisation,” he shares.
